After a long and full life, Arnold passed away peacefully at the Souris Hospital at the age of 84. Husband of Jean MacDonald, loving father of Bernard and Martin (Jenny) MacDonald, predeceased by son Arnie, and brother Melvin. Arnold will be missed by brothers Leonard (Ann), Kenny (Frances); sisters Bernadette MacLean, Walena (Carl), a large extended family and many friends. Arnold was born and raised in Chepstow, spending his early years on the family farm. He began his career in the RCAF, traveling the world with the 444 Squadron. After a stint in the Arctic, Arnold ultimately ended up at Air Canada (Montreal) until his retirement at age 55. Arnold was an avid story teller, quick witted, exceptional at the card table and will always be remembered for his laughter and his ability to bring a smile to those around him. Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home in Souris, visiting hours Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral to be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Souris, funeral mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Souris Hospital in memory of Arnold would be appreciated.
