GREENHILL – Gary Arthur Shaw, 77, Greenhill, went to be with his Lord, Friday, August 18, 2017 in the Maritime Odd Fellows Home (IOOF), Pictou, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Ottawa, Ont., he was a son of the late Howard and Irene Shaw and Irene Wiens. Gary was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church, New Glasgow. He was a large man of faith, always telling people about His Lord. He adored teaching Sunday school and being a summer camp counselor. Gary was a graduate of the University of New Brunswick with a degree in Civil Engineering. He went on to found and operate the local Central Nova Motors, New Glasgow. Gary always had time for his passions, bowling and golfing, where he was a member of the Abercrombie Golf and Country Club for many years. Gary leaves a rich legacy of love, especially his family and community. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian; children, Jacquie (Robert); Tim (Leona); Troy (Amanda); Tyler (Melissa); Crystal (Josh); nine grandchildren; siblings, Dale (Joyce); Dalton (Marsha); Robert (Doreen); Jack (Marlene); Grace (Morris); Eleanor (Lorne); chosen sister, Agnes MacPherson; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Gary was predeceased by a sister, Edith.
In keeping with Gary’s wishes a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Donations in Gary’s memory may be made to Christian Fellowship Church. Special thanks to Pastor Bruce Morrison and the management and staff of the Maritime Odd Fellows Home for their loving care to both Gary and Lillian and their family member for the last six years.
