ELIZABETH ANNE 'BETTY' CHIPMAN (SAMPSON)

God opened his arms on Sunday, August 20, 2017 taking Betty home to be with her mom, dad, sisters and brother.
Born on March 19, 1940, Betty was the daughter of the late Cornelius Sampson and Helen Marie (Courage) (Sampson) Parago.
Betty was a devoted member of the Royal Purple Lodge and the first lady in Canada to become a member of the Elks Lodge when both lodges joined.
Betty is survived by her son, Rick, (Faye) Chipman, Hilton Beach, ON; daughter, Rosemarie (Frank) Kober, Grafton, ON; grandchildren, Christopher (Alexandra) Burke, Ingersol, ON, and Katelyn Burke, Halifax, NS; sisters, Helen Dixon, Pat Parago, both from Sydney and brother, Edmond Sampson, Brantford ON.
Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by two sisters, Yvonne MacLellan, Martha Sampson and one brother, Russell Sampson.
Cremation has taken place, Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa’s Church on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Fr. Dennis Lamey officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
Donations in memory of Betty may be made to Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County - An Cala Unit or charity of your choice.
