It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Diana Stott on August 21, 2017 with her family by her side. Diana will be lovingly remembered by her husband Thomas Stott; children Roberta (Richard) and Randy (Carmela); grandchildren Samantha (Dylan), Ryan, David, Emma, Morison, Michael and Sara; sisters and brothers Jean Pearcey (Harold), Stella Moore (David), Theresa Putt, and Edward Putt and Bev. She was predeceased by her parents George and Hilda Putt and sister Hope Fleet. Diana was born March 1, 1944 in St. John's, Newfoundland to George and Hilda Putt. Diana was the second youngest of six siblings. She left St. John's at the age of 22 with two small kids in tow to explore the world off the rock. She landed in Lynn Lake, Manitoba in the dead of winter where she lived for five years and began her thirty-three year career with the CIBC. Diana and Tom, Roberta and Randy then moved to Winnipeg where she continued her career with CIBC. Prior to her retirement in 2001, she worked as an Account Manager in the Private Banking Centre. She forged many strong friendships with both her co-workers and clients. Diana was extremely proud of all her grandchildren and loved spending time with them, particularly during the summer vacation and on family trips to warmer climates. She was an excellent baker and her Toronto family looked forward, with much anticipation, to her x-mas baking, whether they were hand delivered or packaged with extreme care for their journey to Toronto. Diana was a classy lady, her sense of style with her home design, and her fashion sense was something to be admired. She was always ready to offer advice or to join friends and family on shopping expeditions. She was our own personal designer. Diana had a major impact on all who knew her and will be deeply missed and treasured always. She was a trusted confidant to all and was the first one we would turn to for help or advice. Although may things will never be the same without her in our lives, her love of Christmas and the joy she had in giving gifts to all the children (big and small alike) will live on. To Diana the symbolism of providing joy on Christmas was a reminder of times when things were not so easy and joy was much harder to find. Her love of Christmas was infectious and has been passed onto her kids and now to her grandchildren. Her spirit will be with us on every Christmas morning as we remember with each gift how hard she worked as a 22 year old to provide a better life for her kids and made every day feel like Christmas. The family would like to thanks Dr. Roman, the emergency staff at HSC and many family and friends for their cared support. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10:00 am at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diana's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
