Leonard Wayne Cyr, 1958-2017

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lennie after a brief illness.

He was a son of the late Geraldine Cyr and Leonard Morrison.

Lennie was a long time employee of David Thompson Farm, Sunny Brae until his retirement.

In recent years he was employed with Group Savoie, Westville, until his illness. Lennie looked forward to his days off to spend time with Carol and family. His passion was spending time outdoors on his four-wheeler, hunting, fishing, and as many hours at his camp as possible. He loved to take pictures of the wildlife.

He is survived by his common-law spouse Carol Silver and her daughter Sophie Young; sisters, Rhoda Smith (Gary), Yarmouth; Doreen Carrigan, Hopewell; Rebecca “Becky” Daley, Westville; and Sandra Cyr, Westville; father-in-law Allister Silver, Mt. Thom; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by grandparents Alex and Bertha Cyr; brothers-in-law Neil Carrigan and James Daley; and nephew Jeremiah Daley.

There will be no visitations. A private burial will take place at a later time. Donations in his memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care or a charity of one’s choice. A reception in his honour will be held Wednesday, from 3-6 p.m. at his sister Rebecca Daley’s home, 2339 Fox Brook Road, Westville. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
