It is with very heavy hearts the family announce the peaceful passing of our mom Rita Marie (nee Antle) Melvin, age 86, at the Health Sciences Centre,on August 26th, 2017. Predeceased by her loving husband Samuel, mother and father Priscilla and George Antle, brothers Leonard and Philip (Caroline), sisters Theresa Wilcott, Mary (George) Power and Elizabeth (Owen) Power, brother in-law Greg Kelly, granddaughter Sarah Lorna Antle, grandson Raymond Crane, and very special friend Edmund O'Driscoll. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her children Alvin (Cindy), Madonna (Eugene), Genevieve, Diane (Randy), Gerard (Colleen), Martha (Jimmy), Leona and Jacqueline, grandchildren Leah, Margot, Samuel, Larry, Jennifer (Andy), Blaine (Rebecca), Derrick (Kaylene), Tristan, Blake, Joshua, Kianna, P.J., Trena (Sam), Justin (Erin), great-grandchildren Avry, Olivia and Lillian,her loving sister Hannah Kelly, sister-in-law Emily Antle, brother-in-law Phil Wilcott, special friend Clara O'Driscoll, Jean Walsh and a large circle of family and friends whom she dearly loved. Also her much loved dog Spike. Special thanks to Mary Anne Kelly, Ray Power, Tina Jordan and all others who visited with mom. Special thanks to Dr.Crocker, Rose Croft and the staff of 2nd floor Chancellor Park. Resting at Ryan's Funeral Home, Bay Bulls on Sunday, August 27th from 4-9 pm and Monday from 2-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Tuesday, August 29th, 2017 at 10 am from St. Patrick's R.C. Church, Witless Bay. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, Tors Cove.
