It is with heavy hearts that the families of Hilda Lillian King nee Upward announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL, on Wednesday, August 30th, 2017 at the age of 67 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Barry; her son Shane (Trina); daughter Amy (Brad) Murphy; her cherished grandchildren Shana, Devin, Kristen, Kyle and Riley; her brothers Brian (Lorna) and Ian (Janet); her sisters Jewel (Dean) Rowsell and Gloria (Chuck) McLuckie; her sisters-in-law Edna (Doug) Easton, Sandra Turner and Myra (Randy) Bailey; her numerous nieces, nephews, special friends Irene Wheeler and Glennis Noseworthy, and many other friends and relatives. Hilda was predeceased by her parents Helen and Leonard Upward; father and mother-in-law Chesley and Frances King; and brothers-in-law Steve Pike and Raymond Turner. In keeping with Hilda's wishes, cremation has taken place. Donations can be made in Hilda's memory to St. Paul's United Church, or a charity of one's choice would be gratefully appreciated by the family. The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Monday, September 4th, 2017, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The memorial service will take place on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017, at 2 pm at St. Paul's United Church in Deer Lake, NL, with Rev Myles Vardy officiating.
