Wendy Jeanette Cook
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy Jeanette Cook, on August 31, 2017 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney. Born in Sydney January 15, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Cyril Cook (1993) and Jenny Cook (1973).
Wendy was retired from Harbourstone and the V.O.N. as an LPN.
She is survived by sister, Darlene (Bill), and nephews, Craig, Brian and Kirk; brothers, Elden and Danny (Mila) and their son, Daniel, as well as brother Barry’s children; Jennifer and Gary. She is also survived by step-daughters, Nicole (Mark), River John; Rhonda (Leonard), North Sydney. Also left to mourn are grandsons, Connor and Braden, River John; sister-in-law, Marlaene Russell; brothers-in-law, Danny (Joan), Ottawa; Jimmy (Rodgerina), Sydney Mines, and several other nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, John Lyle in 2006; sister-in-law, Margaret Dove (Joe) and brother, Barry in 2009. Thanks to family and friends who were there every step of the way. Wendy will be especially missed by longtime friends Rosita, Joanne and Wendy, as well as cousin, Diane. Visitation will take place Tuesday, September 5 from 2-4 p.m. and again at 7-9 p.m. at the S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra Street, Sydney. Memorial service will take place Wednesday, September 6th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Father Bill Burke to officiate. Donations in Wendy’s memory may be made to the An Cala Palliative Care Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
