It is with shattered and broken hearts that we, the family, regret to announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, Mitchell Brown, on Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
Born in North Sydney on November 1, 1993, Mitchell is the cherished son of Michelle MacDonald and Allan Brown.
Mitchell was an avid skateboarder, lover of wrestling, a young entrepreneur, and had an endless and creative imagination. During Mitchell’s twenty-three years, he has given the gift of laughter, love, kindness, and caring to others. Mitchell had a huge heart, such a charismatic and captivating smile, and a quick and witty sense of humour. Anyone who was fortunate enough to know Mitchell will carry these memories of him with them forever.
Besides his parents, Mitchell leaves behind his brother, Ryan (Caelin); nephew, Jake; his loving and devoted grandparents, Marlene and Allan Brown; great-grandmother, Joan Campbell; aunts, Joanne (Steve) Giorno and Carol Ann Pyke; uncles, Jude (Debbie), Paul, Lowell (Wendy), Roy (Cheryl), Curtis (Daina) MacDonald, and Maurice Pyke, and all their children; as well as his girlfriend, Jillian Gray and her son, Parker, whom Mitchell adored. Mitchell also leaves behind a multitude of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and friends, who will miss him beyond measure.
Mitchell was predeceased by his ‘Nana and Poppie’, Haddie and Thelma MacDonald, and by his best friend, Tyler Chisholm.
Donations in Mitchell’s memory may be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital.
Visitation for Mitchell Brown will be held today (Friday) from 2-4 &7-9 p.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines.
A celebration of his life will take place Saturday at 10 a.m.in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating. A reception will be held in the parish hall, following the service.

Mitchell, the song has ended but the
