Colette MacPhee

We the family of Colette MacPhee regret to announce the passing of our beautiful, gentle, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother at the age of 69 on September 15, 2017 at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marion (Payne) Kelloway.
She always put her family first and loved to laugh. She loved her grandchildren with all her heart. They loved their “Nan” and have so many beautiful memories. Colette spent many weekends at her place in Mira. She also loved her dart buddies at Jiggers.
Colette was a valued employee of Highland Fisheries for 17 years. Later she worked next to her “partner in crime” at Paulette’s Esthetics for 10 years where she touched the hearts of all the clients.
Colette will be sadly missed by her son, Garfield “Gar” (Joelene), MacAdams Lake; daughters, Shirley (Ron) Popwell, Mira and Paulette “best friend” (Cameron), Glace Bay; grandchildren, Britney (Mike) MacNeil, Sydney, Jeffrey MacPhee, Sydney, Lauren (Brandon) O’Donnell, Mira, Jordan (Daniel) Popwell, Sydney Mines and great-grandchildren, Sophie and Peter.
Colette is also survived by sisters, Thelma MacDonald, Diane MacMillan, Marion (Nolie) Madore and her brother, Murray (Joan).
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Gar; sisters, Theresa Kouagn, Jean Hartling, Ella Landru, Olga Gilmet, Betty MacMillan; brothers, Sonny, Jackie, Walter and Jerry.
We the family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Gallivan and the nursing staff at Glace Bay Hospital for their kindness.
