KING, Ruth Lillian - 87, of Halifax, passed away peacefully Friday, April 8, 2011 in Parkstone Enhanced Care Home, Halifax. Born in Upper Vaughan, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Nina (Rafuse) Church. Ruth worked for many years at the old Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax. She is survived by her daughters, Trudy Isnor and Sheila (Terry) Bigelow; grandchildren, Billy Isnor, Neil and Tammy Bigelow; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Tyler; sisters, Viola Saunders, Frances Blinn and Pauline Davison. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, George King; son-in-law, Jimmy Isnor Sr.; grandson, Jimmy Isnor Jr.; sisters, Florence, Joyce, Effie, Alice, Evelyn, Katherine and Isabel; brothers, Thornton and Oliver. Arrangements for cremation were entrusted to Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Ltd., 419 Albert St., Windsor. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 13 in the Lohnes-DeMont Funeral Service Chapel. Rev. Ellen Hunt officiated. A reception followed in the funeral home’s Elmcroft Reception Centre. Interment was held in the Lakeview Cemetery, Upper Vaughan. Family flowers only, by request.
