Nickerson, Blanchard Edwin – 65, of East Pubnico, formerly of Shag Harbour, passed away on September 15, 2017 at his beloved camp in Pleasantfield, Queens County, where he spent many happy hours enjoying the tranquility of nature. Blanchard was born in Shag Harbour on November 30,1951to Bertha Louise (Churchill) and the late James Eddie Nickerson.

Blanchard was a quiet man who loved hunting, fishing and most of all his beloved grandchildren and family. We will cherish our memories of him and keep him in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Blanche; children, Bonnie (Mark Adams), Benjie (Jeanette) and Bryan; his beloved grandchildren, Maggie Mae, Emma, Gracie and Grant. Blanchard is also survived by his mother, Louise; brothers, Bruce (Debbie), Calvin (Dale) and Alpheus (Loretta); sisters, Helen (Frederick), Gladys, Edna (Dean) and Paulette; many nieces and nephews.


A memorial service took place on Wednesday, September 20, at 2 p.m. in H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Melissa Nickerson Memorial Bursary Fund or charity of choice.
