Heaven has another angel with our mom being called to God on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Palliative Care (An Cala unit) of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, comforted by the love of her family.
Born in Sydney, Isabel was the daughter of the late Alexander and Christena (Cameron) Poulain Keating.
Isabel enjoyed many years raising her family in Gardiner Mines and being involved in the St. James parish community. Her loving and caring spirit continued to be appreciated as she made new friends at Williston House (c/o The Cove Guest Home) Assisted Living where she resided over the last eight years.
She is survived by her sons, James (Ruth), Ken (Pat), Bill (Terry); daughter, Betty (Merrill) Carmichael; grandchildren, Devon & Schoel Strang, Nicole Henderson, Jeffrey, Ryan and Adam Carmichael; great- grandchildren, Carver & Jemima Strang and Ella Henderson.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Bob; son, Donnie; brother, George and sisters, Betty, Emma and Millie. Isabel was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Visitation for Mrs. Strang will be from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 with a funeral service to take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 23 both at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Interment in St. James Parish Cemetery, Gardiner Mines.
