Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at the L.A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Stella Bidgood (nee Chafe), age 86, was predeceased by her loving husband, Luke (2006); parents, Lawrence and Margaret Chafe and her parents-in-law, Frank and Lucy Bidgood as well as her brothers, sisters and in-laws, Mary MacDonald (Eugene), Rita Holden (Art), Bernice Clarke, Jeffrey Chafe (Theresa), Rennie Chafe, Larry Chafe, Reg Cox, Paddy Parsons, Annie Chafe (Robert), John Dinn, Billy Bidgood, Ambrose Bidgood, Doug Hussey and her two nieces, Rena Clarke and Marion Chafe. Left with broken hearts but so many memories to take comfort in are her children, Karl (Elizabeth), Connie Sinnott (Gerard), Luke (Denise), Marilyn and Kathleen Corcoran (Jerome); her seven treasures, Jessica and Charlotte Bidgood, Chad Sinnott, Rebecca and Jennifer Bidgood and Jerome and Kendelle Corcoran and her sisters and in-laws, Marion Cox, Gertrude Parsons, Rose Stephenson (Billy), Bernadine Chafe, Minnie Chafe, Brennie Clarke, Theresa Dinn, Gertrude Walsh (Jack), Betty Doyle (Jimmy), Kay Bidgood, Mary Bidgood and Johnny Bidgood (Eileen). Stella also leaves behind her Monday night seniors card group, "The Sunshine Club" in Petty Harbour and her Tuesday night card club of over forty years: Bessie Hearn, Kay Walsh, Gertrude Walsh, Rose Stephenson and Betty Doyle; along with a very large circle of nieces, nephews and friends, especially Robert and Patsy Howlett. The family would like to thank the staff of 4NA of the Health Sciences Centre and the Palliative Care Unit at the L.A. Miller Centre for the compassionate care given to our Mom during her time there. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 11am-9pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 11am from St. Joseph's Church in Petty Harbour with interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Petty Harbour. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Stella's name may be made to the Diabetes Society.
