The death occurred at Whisperwood Villa on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 of Donald K. Martin of Charlottetown, age 91 years. Beloved husband of the late Arlene (nee Yeo). Loving father of Ken (Rosangela), the late Linda (Mike) Leslie and Bruce Martin and grandfather of Hannah. Brother of Margaret (the late Ralph) Dumont and Elizabeth (the late Martin) Bushell. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Alexandra Martin. He trained as a navy pilot in England during World War II. Don ran a successful insurance business, known as Don Martin Insurance. He was an Elder of the Kirk of St. James. Don had a passion for boating and was a long-time member of the Charlottetown Yacht Club, serving as one of the youngest Commodores. He was a natural athlete winning the Keppoch Junior Tennis Championship in his late teens. He also enjoyed golfing well into his eighties. Don’s restless curiousity and relentless optimism will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Resting at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel.
