It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Rose Marie (Langlois) Cole on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital. She has left the body that betrayed her and moved on to better things. Rose battled Parkinson’s Disease for 18 years with determination, stubbornness and sass – and she had plenty of all three!
Rose is survived, and already greatly missed, by her husband, Tom; daughter, Annette; son, Tom; grandchildren, Sam, Ben and Eliza Huton and their father, Richard Huton. Rose is also survived by brothers and sisters, Alex Langlois, William (Colleen) Langlois, David (Marilyn) Langlois; sisters-in-law, Rose Langlois and Vickie Chessell Langlois, Lorraine (Billy) McMullin, Charmaine (Leonard) Chiasson, Debbie (Billy) Levangie, Cathy (Aubrey) Farrow; sisters-in-law, Margie (Dave) Langlois, Diane (Alan) Hanratty, and Elizabeth Cole; brothers-in-law, Gerry (Helen) Cole, Gary (Marie) Cole, Burt (Emma) Cole, Gordon (Carol) Cole, Paul Cole, and Abel Sampson. Rose is pre-deceased by her parents, Alex and Mary (Sampson) Langlois; her sister, Carol (Jackie) McPherson; brothers, Wayne and Simon Langlois; sisters-in-law, Mary Langlois, Marilyn Sampson; and brother-in-law, Junior Cole.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff on 4B at Cape Breton Regional Hospital, and the Cape Breton Regional Home Care workers who helped care for her at home.
Visitation will take place at Chants Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 12 – 2 p.m., with service to follow officiated by Fr. Dennis Lamey, Donations to Parkinson’s Society, Cape Breton East Chapter in memory of Rose would be greatly appreciated by the family.
