The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday, October 5th, 2017 of Edna Mary (nee Doucette) Martell of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 79 years. Edna was born in DeBlois, P.E.I. to the late Alfred and Margaret (nee Allain) Doucette. Beloved wife of Joseph Martell and loving mother of Diana (Claude) Curley and Linda Howatt, all of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Lacey (Patrick) Mallett, Sasha Williams, all of Alberta and Jordan Howatt of Summerside. Also survived by dear great granddaughers Kitana and Kiara Mallett of Alberta. Survived by her brothers and sisters Roy (Kathleen) Doucette, Velda (Cyrus) Bernard, Helen (Roy) McKenna, Ivan (Tina) Doucette, Denis (Brenda) Doucette, Eileen (Roger) Connors and Joan Doucette (Jim) as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Edna was predeceased by her daughter Shirlee-Anne Williams and her sister Ida McInnis. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, October 10th, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Donations in Edna’s memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
