She leaves to mourn with fond loving memories her 5 children: John (Wendy) of Chester NS, Susan of Bloomington Illinois, Marg Noseworthy (Albert) of Corner Brook, Cindy of Corner Brook, and Mary of Enfield NS; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and her sister Phyllis White of Grand Falls. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives, and a wide circle of friends. Jean was predeceased by her husband Ross Sheppard and later Arthur Cramm; son Arch Sheppard; daughter Judy Rousseau; grandson Peter Sheppard; brothers Bill, Herb, Doug, Jack, Gerry; sister Marion Matthews. Jean was born in Badger, NL on Aug 28, 1928, the daughter of Hedley and Maude (Churchill) White of New Bay, NL. She spent her childhood and younger years in the Newfoundland logging communities of Millertown, Badger, Terra Nova, and later in Grand Falls, NL; Kenogami, Quebec; Terrace, BC; Corner Brook; and St. John's. Jean was a very active and vibrant person, and after her children had grown up and left home, she entered the business world. Jean was a Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, a real estate agent, sold insurance, and had her own women's clothing store, Mrs. J's, for many years on Water Street in St. John's. She also became an artist in her 60's. Later in Corner Brook, she ran a tea shop from her home, and then at 79 years of age, she published a recipe book entitled "My Favourite Recipes". We wish to specifically thank Dr. David Coleman, the wonderful nurses, and other staff who cared so faithfully for Jean in recent years at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre. At Jean's request cremation has taken place. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home on Friday, October 13, 2017 from the hours of 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm. On Nov. 11, 2017 Remembrance Day, family members will be holding a ceremony in Badger, NL in Jean's memory. As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Food Bank.
