Glen Dennis Smith passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on October 10th, 2017 in Moose Jaw, SK. Glen was born in the Brownlee district on April 10th, 1936. He farmed at Brownlee until 1983, he then worked at Brownlee Farm Equipment before moving to Kisbey, SK in 1989. Glen worked for Murray Wyatt farming for 8 years and another 10 years farming with Reg Hookenson before retiring in 2008. Glen and Kathy were married on September 7th, 1957 in St. Andrew’s United Church in Moose Jaw. Glen was very much a helpmate to Kathy in her ministry in the United Church in the Kisbey-Lampman Pastoral Charge 1989-2001. Glen was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Gladys Smith; brothers, Gerald, Vernon; sisters, Florence, and Joyce; grandson, Ryan; son-in-law, Garth; sister-in-law, Betty; brothers-in-law, Gerry and Robert and nephew, Duane. Glen will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Kathy; children, Garnet, Graham (Glenda) and Gay (special friend, Larry); brother, Larry (Linda); grandchildren, Jason, Jared, Austin, Dylan, Brandon, Rachelle, Giles and Shawn; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Grasyn, Annabelle, Adryan, McKinnley, Bella and Jack; sister-in-law, Alice and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 17th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Tenford officiating. Private interment will take place at Brownlee Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined.
