Mary P. ‘Petch’ MacMaster, age 79, a resident of Dunstable, MA for 39 years, formerly of Tewksbury, MA, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at her daughter's home in Tewksbury.
Petch was born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada on November 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Duncan MacMaster and the late Mary (Currie) MacMaster.
Born and raised in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Petch attended local schools and later attended Business College in Toronto.
Petch was employed for many years by the Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank as Assistant Treasurer and Security Officer at their Lowell, MA office. She later worked for the Co-operative Bank of Concord, MA as their Assistant V.P. and Security Officer until her retirement.
She was a member of numerous professional organizations including Savings Bank Women, and served as the Treasurer for N.O.W. (National Organization of Women).
Petch enjoyed her home in Dunstable, baking, shopping and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie (MacEachern) Landers and her husband Timothy of Tewksbury, MA and Rachel (MacEachern) Desantis and her husband Sam of Lawrence, MA; three sons, Glenn MacEachern of Las Vegas, NV, Shawn MacEachern of Amherst, NH and Alexander McEachern, Jr. of Dunstable, MA; a daughter-in-law, Joan MacEachern; three sisters, Agatha Piper of Tewksbury, MA, Carolee Yorke and her husband Wayne of Sydney, Nova Scotia and Edith Ann Calder and her husband Peter of Kingston, Ontario; two brothers, Gordon MacMaster and his wife Pauline of Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia and Erwin MacMaster of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia; her sister-in-law, Helen Lorraine MacMaster of Foxborough, MA; her grandchildren, Rachel and Lauren Landers, Amy, Shawn, Erin, Ryan and Jason MacEachern, Mark and Thomas MacEachern, Rachelle Desantis, Mitchell McEachern and Jessica (McEachern) Barewitz; also many nieces and nephews.
Petch was the sister of the late Alonzo ‘Lonnie’ MacMaster, Elmer MacMaster, Carl MacMaster, Dr. Russell MacMaster, Dr. Duncan MacMaster, Katherine McIsaac, Laura McLean and Jean Cooke.
At the request of the family funeral services were private.
Donations in her memory may be made to the M. Petch MacMaster "Women in Banking" Scholarship Fund at the Lowell Five Cent Savings Bank, 1775 Main St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
