Margaret Virginia Fownes

Margaret Virginia Fownes, née Lynds, died at home in Baddeck, in her 100th year with her family by her side on October 14, 2017.
Margie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was cherished by all who were close to her.
She was a member of Greenwood United Church and longtime active member of the U.C.W.
She is survived by her son, Graeme (Dianne); daughters, Virginia and Minty (Mary); grandchildren, Philip, Clement (Jeanette), Jane, John, Sherri (Pete) and Laurie (Peter); great grandchildren, Alec, Charlie, Lachlan and Blake; sister-in-law, Jeanne, and nieces, Diane, Barbara and Sarah.
She was predeceased by her parents, Herb and Annie; husband, Donnie; son, Sandy (Mabel), and brother, Ralph (Jeanne).
Margie's family would like to thank her care team. Your devotion to our mother’s comfort will always be remembered. Our thanks also go out to Dr. Chow and Dr. Ritter for your personal attention and compassion.
On Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 2 p.m. there will be a graveside service for family and friends at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Baddeck Forks followed by a reception at the St. Andrew’s Community Hall.
Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the United Church Women of the Greenwood United Church.
