Elizabeth Ann (Betty) McGrath, daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth McGrath of Corner Brook, died at the Bay St. George Long Term Care Centre, Stephenville Crossing on October 12, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Elizabeth was a Dietician, Teacher, Guidance Councillor and a very valuable Community member. She spent many years of her life in Stephenville Crossing. Elizabeth leaves to mourn her nieces and nephews, Terry Janovick, Claire Pollock, Catherine Pederson, Karen McGrath, Mary Ann McGrath, Heidi Spenst, Brian McGrath and Kevin McGrath all of British Columbia; Alexandra Borden of Brampton, Ontario, and Tim Rochester of Montreal, her many devoted friends and fellow teachers throughout the province, special friend Carol Ann McKay, who she dearly loved, her husband Randy McKay and their sons who provided a second family for Elizabeth; her caregivers; Geraldine Young, Sylvia Doucette and Judy Brumsey who provided care and friendship to Elizabeth over the last number of years. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth McGrath, her sister, Helen Rochester, her brothers Frank, Alex, Dermot and Father Desmond McGrath and her nephew, Michael. Elizabeth will be remembered for her acts of kindness, generosity and endless commitment to her faith and professions. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Cremation has already taken place. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Assumption Parish, Stephenville Crossing at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Townsite Roman Catholic Cemetery, Corner Brook where Elizabeth will be laid to rest in the McGrath family plot.
