David Parsons

Passed on: October 16th, 2017

Passed away suddenly, doing what he loved to do on October 16, 2017, at the age of 66. He will be forever loved and cherished. Predeceased by his parents Hubert and Ellen Parsons, father-in-law Uriah and Violet Cole, brother-in-law Reginald Cole. Leaving to mourn with loving memories, his wife of 43 years Phyllis, his best friend and son Blair (Shannon), Dad's girl Renee (Brad) and his beloved grandchildren whom he truly adored and who adored him, Olivia, Blake, Jake and Jenna. Also leaving to mourn his sisters Carol (Dave) and Catherine (Joe), brothers-in-law Norman (Irene) and Clifford (Ritva), special niece Tina (Damien), and a treasured circle of family and friends especially Maurice (Patricia), Bill, Gus, Joe, Jason, Adam and Ross. Dave was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and brother and friend. He was a kind, generous, hard-working man; he loved to work spending most of his free time in his garage welding, doing mechanical work, and carpentry, a jack of all trades. He met many people through his work in the construction trade with Seaboard Construction, Marlyn Construction and Keep Cool Refrigeration and touched everyone he met. He had quite the sense of humor, always had a joke to tell and loved to have fun. He was a real character. His garage was always a special place for friends and neighbors, always someone popping in to say hello, tell a story or to see what he was working on. He was a family man, his most enjoyable moments spending time with his children and grandchildren, taking a Sunday drive with his wife Phyllis often looking for his next project. He had a love of antique vehicles and snow-clearing which he passed down to his son and grandchildren. His grandchildren loved their Pop's jokes and enjoyed helping him in the garage. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, Torbay on Wednesday, October 18 from 4-9 pm, Thursday, October 19 from 10 am - 9 pm. Mass will take place on Friday, October 20 at 11 am at St. Michael's Church, Flatrock. Interment to follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted. You touched the heart of every person who was lucky enough to have known you. A devoted family man who went above and beyond for the ones he loved dearly. Dad's motto in life was "It's not what you got in life, it's how you give to others." Thank you for giving us your love.
