Oland “Ollie” Robert  Gouchie

It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Oland “Ollie” Robert Gouchie age 80 of Amherst announce his passing on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Nappan, he was a son of the late Daniel and Vennie (Allen) Gouchie.
Oland worked for 43 years at Enamel Heating retiring in 1997. He enjoyed playing darts, cards, wood working and attending the Amherst Ramblers hockey games.
Oland is survived by his wife Ellen (Crowe), daughters Pam (Stephen) Loga of Moncton, NB and Glenda (Ian) Rudder of Kingston, ON, sons Robert (Sharon) Gouchie of Shubenacadie, NS and Percy Gouchie (Michelle) of Eastern Passage, NS, step daughter Charlene (Brent) Read of Hantsport, NS and Cheryl Wood (Keith) of Joggins, sisters Doris Jackson of Amherst and Nancy Perry (Carman) of Shediac, NB, brothers Norman, Art (Sheila) and Terry (Joan) all of Amherst, Roger (Patsy) of Wood Point, NB and Richard (Diane) of Bancroft, ON, foster brothers Michael of Amherst and Murray Arsenault of Shubenacadie, NS, granddaughters Kelli, Cassi, Brittany, Andria and Tara-Lynn, grandson Ryan, great grandsons Cameron, Connor and Aiden, step grandchildren Jennifer, Jordon, Ryan, Brittany, Bethany, Rachael, Cassandra, Jeffrey, Garrett, Zachery, Cory, Daniel and Jasmine.
Besides his parents, Oland was predeceased by sisters Edna Gouchie, Patsy Hunter and Linda D. in infancy and one brother Carl.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 21st from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS (902) 667-9906.
Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Craig Christenson officiating.
Interment will take place in the St. Charles – Nativity Cemetery, Amherst.
Memorial donations in Oland’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
