George Robert “Robbie” Ferguson

Born August 6, 1919, in Balmoral, N.S. He was a son of the late Leslie and Hannah (Higgins) Ferguson, and husband of the late Leta (Sutherland) Ferguson.
In his early years Robbie worked in the woods. He retired from the Dept. of Transportation after 30 years of service. He enjoyed camping, draft horse shows, calling at dances, card parties, and eating out.
Robbie enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters, Mabel Newson, The Falls; Marilyn Goff (Bob), Australia; Myrna Ferguson (Mary), Truro; grandchildren, Robbie (Mary Ann); Wendy (Ian); Shaun (Anita); Christine (Dean); great-grandchildren, Brittney, Kevin, Grace, Wesley, Abigail, and Charlotte; special friend, Lola MacQuarrie.
Robbie was predeceased by his wife, Leta (Sutherland) Ferguson; an infant daughter; brother, Harold “Hallie”; son-in-law, Wayne Newson.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche (657-3288).
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 27 in Sedgwick Memorial Presbyterian Church, Tatamagouche, the Reverend Mary Anne Grant officiating.
