Muriel Elizabeth (Bette) Wescott
1929-2011
Miramichi - Muriel Elizabeth (Bette) Wescott, wife of Kenneth S. Wescott, of Toronto Drive, Miramichi Retirement Community, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Saturday morning, April 23, 2011, at the age of 81.
Born in Carsonville, Kings Co., N.B., on June 30, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George B. and Della (Hayes) Soper. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Marys Anglican Church, Miramichi; a former member of the A.C.W.; a former employee of Fawcett Enamel & Heating Ltd., in Sackville, N.B.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth S. Wescott; three daughters, Pamela E. Tweedy (Neale), of Mississauga, Ont., Mary Jane Rolfe (Ashley), of Greenville, North Carolina, USA, Jocelyn Milner (Mark), of Madison, Wis., USA; two sons, Garry E. Milner, of London, Ont. and Joel E. Milner, of Brampton, Ont.; one step daughter, Claire F. Beanland (John), of Huddersfield, England; one stepson, Christopher P. Wescott (Beverly), of Caerphilly, Wales; one brother, George A. Soper (Mary), of Rothesay; thirteen grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; her former husband, Joseph L. Milner, of Sackville, N.B.
By her request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A public memorial service will be held from St. Marys Anglican Church, Miramichi, on Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Gordon Thompson. Interment will be later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Marys Anglican Church or the Palliative Care Unit of the Miramichi Regional Hospital, would be appreciated by the family.
