It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Hayman announces his peaceful passing at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, with his loving family by his side on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the age of 76 years. George was a gentle soul who always saw the best in those around him. He enjoyed life to the fullest and continued to be active throughout. In his youth, he enjoyed softball, hockey, and bowling, and he remained an avid fisherman, dart player and Boston Bruin fan. George was the son of the late Walter and Alvina (Walters) Hayman. George was predeceased by his son, Baby Boy George, brothers, Hughie and Wilfred Hayman, mother and father -in-law, Clara and Albert Munden, and brother-in-law, Louis Munden. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories are his loving wife Margo (nee Munden) of 56 years. A proud father, grandfather and great grandfather, George will forever remain in the hearts of his children; Kimberley (Conrad) Petrikowski, Dartmouth, NS, Arlene (Dan) DeGaust, Hubbards, NS, Linda Hayman, Port-aux-Basques, Vaughn (Annette) Hayman, St. John’s, NL and Kayla Hayman, Port-aux-Basques, grandchildren, Kyle, Kristen, Elyse, Nicolas and Liam, great-grandchildren, Jack and Charlotte, brothers, Walter (Minnie) Hayman and Rex Hayman, sister-in-law, Georgina Hayman, his sister-in-laws, Mabel Ferguson, Audrey (Len) Crewe, Elsie (Fred) Keeping, Linda (Allan) Cave, Sandra (Gus) King, brother-in-law, Bert (Eleanor) Munden, as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces, and friends, especially his Wednesday night dart league and his jamming buddies where he played his beloved accordion. In keeping with George’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 24, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Fillatre’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at St. James Anglican Church on Wednesday, October 25 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Marlene Harvey officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to St. James Anglican Church or Charity of one’s choice.
