JAMES 'JIM' JEWER

Jim passed away at home on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
Born in Sydney he was the son of the late Solomon and Annie (Cousins) Jewer.
He is survived by his wife, Martha (Shaheen); son, James (Vicki); daughters, Barbara Burke (Wayne) and Donna Shadbolt (Jeff); grandchildren, Jennifer and Kyle Burke, Jalyssa and Jillian Shadbolt who were his pride and joy. Jim is survived by sisters, Doris, Rita and Rose; brothers, Tom, Roy and Ernie; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Henry and Solomon, as well as sisters, Lillian, Olive, Lottie, Violet and Florence.
Jim worked as a professional meat cutter throughout his entire life and took great pride in his work. In his earlier years Jim was a member of the Salvation Army and he could raise the roof with his strong beautiful voice. He played various musical instruments with his favorites being the trumpet and guitar. He loved a good Jive and a mean game of tarbish, not to mention family trips to the Mira.
Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held at Chant's Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney on Saturday, October 28, 2017, 2:30-4:30 p.m. Service immediately following in the funeral home chapel officiated by Major Corey Vincent. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
