Passed peacefully away with her family by her side, at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, on Sunday, October 29, 2017, aged 88 years. Predeceased by her husband Maxwell Spurrell and sons Raymond and Clayton, parents Sam and Violet Avery, brothers Everett (Walwyn) and Larry. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her daughters Sylvia (Kevin) and Sheila (Walter) and sons Hayward (Blanche) and Al (Tess), grandchildren Terry (Chantale), Darren (Joann), Rod (Patty Lynn), Suzette (Jason) and Kim (Morgan), great-grandchildren Haylee, Lucas, Jake, Parker, Tripp, Max, Janelle, Tyler, Ethan, and Taylor, sister-in-law Emiline, cousin Eileen and a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Fewer's Funeral Home in Clarenville on November 1st, 7-9 p.m. and November 2 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. Mary's Anglican Church in Clarenville, commencing at 12 noon with a reception downstairs, followed by the service at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Sunnyside Anglican Cemetery. Flowers are welcome because Ellie loved flowers or in her memory, donations can be made to the Discovery Health Care Foundation.
