Passed peacefully away at his home in Clarenville on Saturday, November 4, 2017, George Martin aged 86 years. Predeceased by his parents; three sisters and four brothers. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Eloise of 62 years, son Paul (Robin), daughter Denise, his cherished grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Erin and Gillian, sister-in-law Myrtle King, many nieces, nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville with visitation on Tuesday, November 7 from 7 pm - 9 pm and Wednesday, November 8, at 2 pm - 4 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm. A service to celebrate George's life will be held Thursday, November 9 at 2 pm from the United Church, Shoal Harbour with Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery, Shoal Harbour. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to Shoal Harbour United Church. George enjoyed every minute of a 30 year teaching career and followed that with an equally enjoyable 15 years in real estate. His favourite pastimes included golf, bowling, fishing and he spent many hours involved with community organizations and fundraising, times he often referred to as a journey of love.
