Hugh G. ‘Hughie’ Bennett, age 89, of Fraserville, and formerly of Williams Lake, B.C. passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2017 at the South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro.
Born in Advocate Harbour, he was a son of the late James Irvin and Beatrice O. (Morris) Bennett.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ardis Strong; a daughter, Cathy, Fraserville; a son, Ralph (Doreen), Dartmouth; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by daughters, Beth and Angella; a son, Courtney; sisters, Beulah, Daisy, Claire, Bell, Leola; brothers, Basil, Donnie, Vernon, Bernard, Russell, Wyman, Howard, Roger.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
