Leslie Senner of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, died on Nov 4, 2017, at Central Haven long-term care home at the age of 81. He was born on Oct 12, 1936, in Freeman, South Dakota, son of Ben and Leatta Senner. Les grew up on the family farm. He graduated from the University of South Dakota and had a MSW degree from the University of Denver.

Les married Winona Waltner in 1958. They adopted two children, Christopher and Kerry. He worked as a social worker in child welfare for the state of South Dakota and then taught in the sociology department at the University of South Dakota for several years. In 1971 the family moved to the Northern Cheyenne reservation in Montana, working on a community development project. Two years later, in 1973, the family moved to Saskatchewan where Les became a member of the then new Faculty of Social Work, administering the teaching centre in Prince Albert where he worked until his retirement.

Les was preceded in death by his parents and by his daughter, Kerry and leaves his wife, Winona Senner, son, Christopher Senner and sister Judith (Facemire), husband Butch, and nephew Brent Facemire and family.
