Jean ‘Jeannie’ Rice

We regret to announce the passing of Jean Sandra Rice on Saturday, September 30, 2017, in Toronto, Ontario.
Born in Sydney on June 22, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Esther (Dakai) Rice.
Jeannie was a graduate of Riverview High School and Cape Breton Business College. She retired from Imperial Esso in Toronto.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Esther Haase; brother-in-law, Elvio, and her dear aunt, Elsie Percy.
Jeannie is survived by her sister, Betty Polegato; nephews, David, Sydney and Andrew (Wendy), and their children, Cara and Drew, Amherst.
A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 25 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Louis Ihasz officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the United Protestant Church of Sydney River (the new roof fund).
