LYNDS, Evelyn Anna – 91, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late James and Winnifred (Dicks) Frizzell. Evelyn worked at Stanfield’s for many years until she retired in the 1960s. In earlier years, she enjoyed playing bingo, but most of all, she took great pleasure in quilting and giving her homemade treasures to family and friends. Evelyn is survived by her children, Wayne (Grace) Lynds, Debert; Arlene (Mack) Blois, Hilden; grandsons, Wayne Sutherland, Truro; great grandson, RJ Sutherland, New Glasgow; sister, Helen (Doug) Glawson, Truro; brother, James Frizzell (Geraldine), Onslow; “like brother”, Butch (Rosalie) Frizzell, Onslow; many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Joan (Phil) Lynds; brother, Eldridge (Jessie) Frizzell. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Evelyn’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2017, and funeral service 2 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2017, The Reverend Gary Yetman officiating.
