It is with great sadness that the family of the late Winnetta Lilly announced her passing on November 29th at the age of 95 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Winnetta was the daughter of the late Samuel and Martha Lillington. She was also predeceased by her husband John S. Lilly, sons John Morgan and Bill Lilly, sisters Ellen Margaret and Florence (Gordon) McNeil, brother Jack (Alma) Lillington, and brother-in-law Keltie Farrell. Winnetta leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters Margaret (Orrin) Scott of Lake Echo, NS, Evelyn Lilly of Port aux Basques, NL, and Linda (John) Lilly of St. Andrew's, NL, son-in-law Gerald Roy, sister Fanny Farrell of Port aux Basques, NL, brother Morgan (Harriet) Lillington of Port aux Basques, NL, special friends Rick and Queen Lillington of Port aux Basques, NL, grandchildren Darrin (Sonya), Scott (Tammy), Darlene, Kim, Linda (Craig) Kettle, Rosalyn Roy, Rene Roy, Janet (Daryl) Key, DJ (Jennifer) Kendrick, Joshua (Julia) Walters, Darrell (Tara) Cormier, 15 great grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews and a large number of family and friends. The family received friends and family on Thursday, November 30th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and Friday, December 1st from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral service was held on Saturday, December 2rd at 11 am from St. James Anglican Church in Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Marlene Harvey with internment followed at St. James Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH. Flowers are graciously accepted and donations can be made to one's choice.
