We, the family of Dave MacDonald, would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all the love and support shown to us during such a difficult time. To our family, friends, neighbours, extended families and coworkers, thank you for always being there. We love and appreciate you more than we could ever express in words. For everyone who sat with, comforted and talked to Dad for hours, you made his final days full of love, friendship and special memories. For all the sympathy cards, condolences, food, donations, texts, visits, hugs and love, we are so incredibly thankful. To Father Peter MacLeod, the readers, the choir, the staff at Dooley’s Funeral Home and to all those who made Dad’s funeral service such a beautiful tribute to such a great man, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To the young bagpiper, know that your beautiful music touched us so deeply. We know Dad was smiling down on us all. Thank you to the CWL for the wonderful lunch following the service. To the staff of the Cape Breton Cancer Clinic especially Dr. Khodidad and Eleanor Cooke, your kindness and compassion made his battle so much more manageable. To Michelle Finney, we will never forget the support you gave to Dad in his final days. To Jill Murphy, thanks for sitting with Dad to talk and sing and create for us a keepsake of memories. To the staff of the An Cala Unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, your kindness and compassion with Dad helped to comfort him in his final hours. To the staff at Miner’s Memorial Manor, we could never thank you enough for the great care and love that you showed Dad. For all the times you comforted him, held his hand, talked and laughed with him, we will never forget you. He truly cared for all of you and considered the Manor to be his home. To Dr. Michelle McKeough and Louise, we could never thank you enough for your years of dedication, care, support and respect for Dad and the kindness you’ve shown to us over the years. We will never forget your support. Finally, to Dad, Poppie, Buddy, Brother and Uncle Dave, we love and miss you beyond words.
