Chris MacNAUGHTON

MacNAUGHTON, S. C. ‘Chris’
Lyon’s Brook

The family of Sarah Christine ‘Chris’ MacNaughton sadly annonce her passing on December 2, 2017, at age 105. Chris lived life to the fullest, engaging in many church, community and family events. She enjoyed her card parties, knitting, gardening, reading the newspapers and diligently completing most of their puzzles, before calling it a day. Chris was a lifelong member of the Lyon’s Brook United Church and the United Church Women (UCW), as well as a member of the Lyon’s Brook Women’s Institute. She was also a member of the Lyon’s Brook United Church choir for over 50 years, as well as organist and choir director when needed. Her real joy in life was her two boys, Peter and Ted. She welcomed with love their wives, Patricia ‘Pat’ and Eileen. Chris was very proud of her granddaughters, Sara and Paula; and her grandsons, Eddie and Patrick; great-granddaughter, Brittany; and great-grandson, Devin. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Bernice Hutchinson of Lindsay, Ontario. Chris was predeceased by her loving husband, Harold (1987); her parents, W.E.C. ‘Cooke’ and Christena ‘Tena’ MacCallum; six brothers, Edward, Earl, Bert, Ernie, Harry and Wilbur. Chris was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Also left to mourn are several nieces and nephews, cousins and her card playing buddies. All will miss her but grateful for a long life well lived. Chris was employed for several years at the Department of Fisheries Training School in Pictou, a position she thoroughly enjoyed. Visitation will be 6:30 – 9:00 PM Tuesday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday from Lyon’s Brook United Church, with Rev. Jim Webber-Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Seaview Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in her memory may be made to the Lyon’s Brook United Church, Lyons Brook Hall or a charity of your choice. www.mclarenfuneral.ca
