It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Oscar Abbott announce his passing on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 92 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his combined family; Glen Abbott-predeceased (Loretta), Janice Marshall (Chris), Curt Abbott (Ellen), Chris Abbott (Marla), Joanne Abbott (Byron), Julie Sheppard (Dave), Jeanne Colbourne (Steve), Suzanne Abbott, Gary McCarthy (Audrey), Elizabeth Hayden (Ron-predeceased), Terry McCarthy (Rhonda), Molly McCarthy Senebald (Stretch - predeceased), Trudy McCarthy (Bob), Rosalie MacNeil (Keith), Margurita Wood (Jim), Janie Munroe (Bob), Patricia Ferguson (Barry), Georgina St. George (Gerry), James McCarthy, a large circle of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. Also left to mourn, special sister-in-law Ivy Abbott, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Jane (Jen), parents Lewis and Vashti Abbott, brother Wilfred, and sister Ena Rowsell (Ken). Cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends at Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue, on Monday, December 4th, with visitation from 2-3:30 p.m. followed by a celebration of life in the chapel.
