Passed peacefully at home on Thursday, December 7, 2017, age 79 years. Daughter of the late Michael and Anna (nee Richardson) North of Bay de Verde, and wife of Donald (2008) of St. John's. She was a loving mother to Donnalee Woodford Copetti (Al), Toronto, and Michael (David Brennan), Kitchener. Carmel was the proud "Nanny" to Alpidio Joseph (AJ) Copetti. She will be deeply missed by many friends, cousins, nephews, and nieces. She was a longtime employee of Memorial University and a committed member of St. Teresa's Parish. Friends and relatives are invited to visit the family at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Saturday 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., with a Vigil at 8 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Teresa's, Mundy Pond Road, on Monday, December 11, at 1 p.m. The rite of committal to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in Carmel's memory can be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre, or the charity of one's choice.
