Buddy had a wonderful 40 year career as a locomotive conductor with Devco Railway, following in his father’s, as well as other Bowes men’s footsteps. Buddy was a longtime member of Trinity United Church in Whitney Pier and enjoyed many pursuits in his retirement years. He loved travelling, swimming at the polar bear beach, skating, puzzle making and playing cards. Buddy also got great joy out of enjoying home cooked meals prepared by his sister, Chris and daughters, Cathy and Adele. Buddy was a wonderful, kind, quiet and generous man and will be missed by many, including neighbor and friend, Lindsey LeJeune.
Special thanks go to the nurses and doctors in Palliative Care, specifically Dr. Burns and Beth Latham, for the impeccable care provided to Buddy in his final weeks. The family would also like to thank the wonderful VON nurses, meals on wheels program and the fantastic volunteers in Palliative Care. Lastly, his daughters, Cathy and Adele were honored to be his primary caregivers in his last months. We’ll miss you Dad.
