May Thompson (Wilcock)

Passed in: Maxville, Ontario
Passed on: December 3rd, 2017

THOMPSON, May (Wilcock) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing, in her 97th year, of our Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. May was predeceased by her husband Clarence, mother Mary, father Joseph, as well as two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her two remaining brothers, Bert and Allan and one sister Edna, all residing in England. She leaves a lifetime of memories to her son Melvin (Tucker), Debbie and Valoree Atchison (Jack). Grandchildren Sherry, Lisa, Robbie, Stacey, Jamie, and Tyson. Great Grandmother of Will, Mckenna, Brady, Devon, Austin, Alyssa, and Kaitlyn. May immigrated to Canada as a war bride in 1946 from Leigh, Lancashire, England. She became a Canadian citizen and was very proud of her adopted country, although she loved to visit England and part of her heart remained there. Mom was also “Nanny” to all who met her, especially the children of Martintown. Her french fries and specials were one of a kind and she loved to cook them for the kids. We would like to thank all of her friends for taking the time to visit with her at the Manor. Our most heartfelt thank you to the staff at Maxville Manor, who treated her with kindness and understanding. Thank you to our special angel Carrie. Keeping with Mom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of her life was held for the family. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations made to Maxville Manor or the Alzheimer Society of Ontario would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of the MUNRO & MORRIS FUNERAL HOMES LTD., 20 Main Street, Maxville, (527-2898) . As a Memorial to May, a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows-memories live. Condolences may be made online at www.munromorris.com
