Lawrence B Day

Day, Lawrence Beverly – 77, Truro Heights, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2011, at home. Born in Chaswood, he was a son of the late Sidney and Helen (Malay) Day. He and his family lived for many years in Killam, Alta., where he had been employed as a heavy equipment mechanic. Lawrence always enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Upon retirement, he moved back to Nova Scotia, where he spent many wonderful times with his family at his cabin on Long Lake.
He loved his family dearly and will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Rosemarie Smith; children, Joe, Sidney (Betty), Marilyn, Robert (Lenore), Tuesday (Paul); 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Stuart, Donald (Connie), Helen (Harvey) Lively, Ivy, Sidney (Elaine), Leonard (Denny), Lorraine; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Lola; sister-in-law, Florence; brother-in-law, Bill Buckley. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 11, at 2 p.m., in Wittenburg Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Porter officiating. Burial to follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Wittenburg. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Wittenburg Baptist Church, Truro Heights Baptist Church, or Colchester-East Hants Palliative Care. Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. The family wish to say many thanks to Drs. Sharma and Henderson, and Ann McKim and the staff of palliative care workers, who allowed Lawrence to stay in his home.
