Bernadette Anne MacDonald

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, sister and friend, Bernadette Anne MacDonald, age 77, on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born October 28, 1940 in Mill Creek, Bernadette was the daughter of the late Lillian Murphy.
Bernadette enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, picking berries, knitting and bingo. She enjoyed visitors and always greeted them with an unforgettable laugh. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
Bernadette is survived by her husband, Gordon; her daughter, Roxanne MacDonald, Sydney Mines, and her son, Roscoe (Heather) MacDonald of Alberta. Also surviving are her brothers, Jim and Kevin Murphy, California, Tom (Shirley) Larade, Cheticamp, Terry Murphy, Florida; her sister, Irene Murphy of California, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her infant son, Gordon.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Northside Guest Home and Dr. Knott for the care given to Bernadette, also to very special friends Christina Jessome, Lucy Porter and Theresa MacDonald for their frequent visits.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
