It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the sudden passing of James Michael Murphy of Colliers, at the Health Science Centre on December 18th, 2017, at the age of 70 while surrounded by many members of his very loving family. He leaves with many fond memories his wife Linda, children Glen (April), Wanda-lee Carew (Wayne), and Craig (Emily), and grandchildren Emily, Jenna, Gracie, Jeremy and McKenna. He also leaves with a multitude of humorous tales and fond memories his brothers John (Floss), Martin (Kathy), and Tim (Aggie), his sisters Margie (John), Mary (Jim), Dorothy (Gary), Virgina (Jim) and Elaine (Cyril), his many nieces and nephews, and his close friends Kelly Laracy and Noah Genge. James is predeceased by his mother Bridget, father Timothy, and brother Eugene. A long time member of the Ironworkers Union, Local 764 and the Boilermakers Union, Local 146, James loved his life's work and loved to talk about his experiences. He traveled extensively and frequently all over Canada and the United States to provide a good living for his wife and family. He was an avid reader and an honest communicator who was extremely passionate about people. He could enter a room not knowing a soul, but left knowing nearly everyone. All are invited to pay their respects and celebrate James's life at Flaherty's Memorial Funeral Home in Conception Harbour on Wednesday, December 20th from 2pm-9pm, and Thursday, December 21st from 2pm-9pm.
