Entered into eternal rest December 22, 2017, Mary Bridget (Bride) Maher, at the wonderful age of 92 years, surrounded by her loving family. Mom was blessed with her strong belief in God and unwavering faith. She was witty, generous and blessed with her independence and memory to the end. She loved to travel, to play cards, and enjoyed a valued and active social life. She loved company and caring for others. She enjoyed her telephone, her FaceTime connections with family and friends and she loved story telling right to her final days and left us with many stories to remember her by. Mom was predeceased by her husband Alfred (1993), sons Carl (1975), Alfred Jr. (1995), infant children Pamela and Gerard, grandson Chris, parents Patrick and Jane Ryan, siblings Cecil (Lil), Paul (Bernice) Sr. Norberta, Anita Harvey (Jack), in-laws Uriel Ryan (Peter Jack), Cyril Maher (Amelia), Arthur Maher (Irene), Mercedes Maher and Maureen Ryan, sons in-law Paschal O'Neil and Albert Kane. Left with loving memories are her children Paul (Nellie), Anne (Clarence), Paddy, Joselyn, Marian (Felix), Noreen (Lars), Otto, Bernadette, Jude, Maria (Roland) and Stephanie (Amr). Mom had a multitude of adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly and they were blessed to have her in their lives. She is lovingly remembered by her siblings Paddy (Catherine), Philip, Mary (Eldon), and brother-in-law Gerry Maher. Mom is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, especially her Godson Philip, her dedicated friends Shirley, Kay and Colleen, whose kindness and companionship was so valued and appreciated. She was very thankful for her numerous visitors and the wonderful staff and residents of 4 North East Pleasant View Towers, where she resided for the last twenty months. Relatives and friends are invited to pay respects at Fahey's Funeral Home, Fermeuse on Wednesday Dec. 27, 11-9 pm, Thursday, Dec. 28, 9-10 am. Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, Dec. 28, at 11 am from Holy Trinity Church, Ferryland. Interment at Holy Fatima Cemetery, Aquaforte. Flowers gratefully accepted.
