Gerald "Bugzy" Richard Malone

Malone, Gerald “Bugzy” Richard- 60, of Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport, formerly of Bible Hill, Truro, passed away in Roseway Hospital on December 21, 2017. Born in Yarmouth he was a son of the late Radford and Virginia (Nickerson) Malone. In 1977 Jerry joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served aboard the HMCS Margaree as a Stewart. Two Years later he remustered to MSE Op and subsequently served at CFB Gagetown, N.B, CFB Baden-Soellingen, Germany, CFS Penhold, Alberta, before retiring from CFS Debert in 1997. Following his retirement he opened Bugzy Malone Driving School. This enabled him to have many hours of enjoyment teaching young and old the driving rules and regulations and the proper techniques. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Alfreda; special daughter, Prattana Tapannon; brother, Michael (Judy); sisters, Shirley Proctor, Barbara Nickerson, Mary Ellen (Courtney) Ross, and Debbie Waybret; sisters in-law, Ellen Suttle and Mary Collishaw; brothers-in-law, Walter (Noreen) MacDonald and Greg D’entremont as well as multiple nieces and nephews who were all special in their own way. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Gary “Bo” and sister Janice Atkinson. He will be sadly missed for his kind and generous heart. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 29 from 7-9 pm in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 30 at 2 pm in the United Church, Lockeport with Rev. Kevin Cox officiating. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Lockeport and Area First Responders or Lockeport Cemetery Fund.
