It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, brother, son and friend, Wendell Musgrave, on Friday, December 29, 2017, at the Northside General Hospital, after a lengthy illness.
Born in North Sydney on September 23, 1941, he was the son of the late Hammond and Betty (Day) Musgrave.
Wendell started his many successful business ventures in 1976 as owner/partner of R.B. Smith Wholesale, Picture Perfect, and later Family Suzuki in 1996. He was also the past owner of Executive Child Care and continued in sales until his later retirement. Wendell was a true believer in supporting his community, which he did in many ways.
He is survived by his loving son, Corey (Corinne); grandsons, David (Robin), Ian (Chantal), and Michael (Pearl); partner, Patsy Quirk (and four-legged friend, Digger). Also left to mourn are his sisters, Marilyn (Earl), Brenda (Frank), Valerie and Trudy; great-granddaughters, Morganne, Claire, Layla, Lily and Sonia; uncle, Horace Musgrave; and long-time friend, Albert MacDougall.
Wendell was predeceased by his wife, Sharyn (Hopkins) Musgrave; mother and father-in-law, Max and Mary Hopkins.
Visitation for Wendell Musgrave will be held on Sunday, December 31, 2017, in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines, from 2-4 p.m.
The burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army, and local food banks.
