Trenton - Lorraine E. Morrison. It is with heavy hearts and tears of sadness, Melissa and family announce the passing of her beloved mother, Lorraine, 56, in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital on May 7, 2011.
As we prayed for a miracle not meant to be, she slipped away peacefully after a short battle with cancer. Born in New Glasgow, she was the youngest daughter of Delia (Hartling) and the late John Morrison. She is survived by her loving daughter Melissa (Karl Romans) and special granddaughter Makayla, Trenton, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by mother Delia Morrison, Westville; brothers: John (Gerry), New Glasgow; Jim (Catherine), Greenwood; sisters: Sally (Gerald) Phalen, Linacy; June, Trenton; Joanne (Colin) Coady, Westville; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father John Morrison.
A very special thank you to great friends Sharon Brown and Barry Jordan, who were a pillar of strength to Lorraine and family during this most difficult time. Lorraine was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to everyone who knew and loved her. As we say goodbye, we know our dad is waiting to take care of you in Heaven. We love you Lorraine, and you will always be in our hearts.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, Trenton. Funeral service 11 am Wednesday in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson officiating.
