Greta Head

Passed on: December 31st, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing our dear Aunt Greta. With loved ones by her side, she was called home on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at the age of 80 years.
Greta was born in Whitney Pier, a daughter of the late Adam and Louisa (Rolfe) Head.
She worked at the former Cove Guest Home on Kings Road. Greta loved her job and would often speak about the lovely people with whom she worked. She also had a love for children. For many years, Greta was a member of the Sydney Pentecostal Church. She will be sadly missed by all her church family.
Besides her parents, Greta was predeceased by her brothers, Walter (Gladys), Adam (Doris), Earl (Louise), Clyde (Yvonne) and Rolfe (Peggy); sisters, Mary (Edgar), Lillian (William), Nancy (George) and Florence (Chess), and four siblings in infancy.
Greta leaves behind her brothers, Carl and Bill (Tina), as well as many nieces and nephews.
We would like to sincerely thank her dialysis family and the great team of doctors who cared for her over the past few years. As much as she dreaded going three times a week, she looked forward to seeing all your smiles. Also, thank you to Dr. Ritter and the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit for making Greta so comfortable. A big thank you to all the staff at the Victoria Haven Nursing Home for your excellent care.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no service. Interment will take place at Eastmount Cemetery in the spring.
Words of comfort can be sent to the family at www.sydneymemorialchapel.ca or e-mail sydneymemorialchapel@ns.sympatico.ca.
