Isabel Mary Flood

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Isabel Mary Flood, announce her peaceful passing at the Cove Guest Home on January 5, 2018.
Born in Sydney, NS on September 21, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Dan L. MacNeil and Bessie MacNeil.
Isabel was well known as the front store clerk at Smith’s Bakery Shops in Sydney and Sydney River. She was also a volunteer at the Red Cross Blood Donor Clinics for a number of years.
Isabel is survived by special son, nephew Gus Ryan, and special grandsons, Sean (Amber) and Craig (Michelle) Ryan and their families. Isabel will also be missed by sister, Cathy (Eric) Dolan, and sister-in-law, Sally (late Mike) MacNeil. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who she thought of as very special.
Besides her parents, Isabel was predeceased by her husband, Matt Flood in 1972; brothers, Mike and Alex (late Lucy); sisters, Elizabeth (Sis) Halloran (Toby) and Catherine Theresa in infancy.
I would like to thank the staff of the Cove Guest Home who gave her such loving care for the last number of years. Also units 3A and 3B at the CBRH for the special attention she received in her visits there.

Funeral service will take place 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 9 at the S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Fr. Everett Macdow to officiate.
